Objet\u00a0: <\/span>Ma\u00e2ti Monjib \u00ab\u00a0recherch\u00e9 pour atteinte \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019Etat.\u00a0\u00bb<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Monsieur Ma\u00e2ti Monjib, pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Association Freedom Now a \u00e9t\u00e9 retard\u00e9 d\u2019une fa\u00e7on inhabituelle lors de son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019a\u00e9roport de Mohammed V-Casablanca sur un vol Air Arabia en provenance de Montpellier (France) le lundi 31 aout dernier. Demandant une explication \u00e0 ce retard, l\u2019agent de police lui a r\u00e9pondu qu\u2019il est recherch\u00e9. Effectivement, un officier en civil debout \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019agent tenait bien entre les mains un papier avec en-t\u00eate officiel o\u00f9 est inscrit, en dessous du num\u00e9ro de la carte d\u2019identit\u00e9 nationale de M. Monjib, la note\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0recherch\u00e9 pour atteinte \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019Etat.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce nouvel incident fait suite \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie de provocations et de pressions dont a \u00e9t\u00e9 victime M. Monjib et qui incluent de tr\u00e8s nombreux articles diffamatoires publi\u00e9s dans des journaux et sites d\u2019information connus pour \u00eatre proches de certains milieux et des menaces contre sa s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et sa vie. M. Monjib dispose d\u2019un dossier r\u00e9unissant ces attaques et menaces et dont une partie a \u00e9t\u00e9 remise en main propre \u00e0 monsieur le ministre de la Justice et de Libert\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le bureau ex\u00e9cutif de Freedom Now condamne avec indignation ces basses pratiques et demande \u00e0 MM. les ministres de la Justice et des Libert\u00e9s, de l\u2019Int\u00e9rieur ainsi qu\u2019au pr\u00e9sident du Conseil National des Droits de l\u2019Homme (CNDH) d\u2019ouvrir une enqu\u00eate sur ces agissements qui violent les lois nationales et les conventions internationales ratifi\u00e9es par le Maroc et qui prot\u00e8gent les droits humains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Me.Abderrahmane Benameur (ancien b\u00e2tonnier), Me. Abderrahim Jamai (ancien b\u00e2tonnier) ainsi que Me Abdelaziz Nouaydi ont adress\u00e9, \u00e0 cet effet, une mise en demeure le 10 septembre \u00e0 monsieur le procureur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du roi pr\u00e8s la cour d\u2019appel de Rabat. Cette mise en demeure attire l\u2019attention de monsieur le procureur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral sur les pressions que subissent M. Monjib ainsi que MM Samad Ayach et Hicham Mansouri.<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Maati Monjib \u00ab\u00a0wanted for undermining state security\u00a0\u00bb<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Maati Monjib, president of Freedom Now, was abnormally delayed at the Mohammed V Casablanca Airport upon his arrival on an Air Arabia flight from Montpellier (France) on 31 August. After requesting an explanation, Mr. Monjib was told by the police officer that he was \u201cwanted\u201d. Standing by was another plainclothes officer holding a document with official letterhead containing Mr. Monjib\u2019s national identity number and the note: \u00ab\u00a0sought for undermining state security.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

This latest incident comes in the context of other intimidation and pressures suffered by Mr. Monjib, including a considerable number of defamatory articles published in known politically-motivated newspapers and news sites, as well as threats made against the security of his person. Mr. Monjib keeps a record of such attacks and threats, and has delivered parts of that record to the Minister of Justice and Liberties.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Freedom Now Executive office strongly condemns such practices and calls on the Minister of Justice and Liberties, the Minister of Interior, and the President of the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) to investigate these acts that violate national laws and international human rights conventions ratified by Morocco.<\/span><\/p>\n

To that end, Attorneys Abderrahmane Benameur, Abderrahim Jamai, and Abdelaziz Nouaydi also sent a notice to the Royal Prosecutor at the Rabat Court of Appeals on September 10. This notice bring pressures suffered by Mr. Monjib, Mr. Samad Ayash Mr. Hicham Mansouri to the Prosecutor\u2019s attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

M. Monjib <\/b><\/span><\/span>was summoned by the BNPJ police to visit its office in Casablanca for questioning on September 14<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span>.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
